OIC to discuss escalation in Israeli attacks on Palestinians

The Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a meeting of foreign ministers at the Secretariat in Jeddah on Thursday to discuss the grave situation in the Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem, Al-Quds news agency reported.

In a statement realeased yesterday, OIC General Secretariat Iyad bin Amin Madani invited the organisation’s foreign ministers to attend the meeting and discuss the fierce Israeli campaign in the Palestinian territories and the collective punishment against the Palestinian people which led to the murder of Palestinian teen Mohammad Abu Khdeir.

The Executive Committee is expected to issue a joint statement outlining a plan of action for the involved ministers at the regional and international levels.

The OIC Executive Committee includes Egypt, Senegal, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Guinea and Kuwait.
