Egypt buys electricity from private sector

The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has signed an agreement to buy electricity from two private sector plants, the Palestinian newspaper Al-Resalah reported.

A statement, released on the sidelines of the economic conference held in the Egyptian resort city Sharm El-Sheikh, revealed that an agreement was signed with two companies including Benchmark Power International to buy electricity generated from clean coal to supply the city of Kafr El-Sheikh with 2,300 megawatt.
