Democratic Front calls for taking the settlement file to ICC

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called for the Israeli settlement file to be presented before the International Criminal Court (ICC) without delay.

The Front called on the Executive Committee of the PLO to immediately submit the dossier of settlements in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem to the ICC.

It demanded the European Union and the United States impose sanctions on Israel and take practical measures to stop the settlement expansion process in Jerusalem and all occupied Palestinian territories.

The organisation said, in an official statement, that Netanyahu proceeded to execute his election programme through intensifying settlements, announcing last week his approval of the construction of 900 settlement housing units in the occupied East Jerusalem.

The Democratic Front praised calls by some in the European Parliament to stop the European partnership agreements with Israel after the testimony of Israeli soldiers who confirmed that they had deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians during last summer’s war on the Gaza Strip.
