Yemen truce breached within hours

Reporters from Turkey’s Anadolu news agency recorded three breaches of Yemen’s humanitarian truce within the first 90 minutes of the agreement beginning on Tuesday evening at 20.00 GMT.

One breach took place in Taiz, in the centre if the country; a second was in Al-Dalei in the south; and the third took place in Al-Jawf in the east.

The Anadolu staff said that a tank belonging to the Houthi militias targeted forces loyal to President Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi in Al-Morour district of Taiz. Clashes also erupted between the Houthis and the Popular Resistance groups loyal to Hadi in Saber Mountain overlooking the city.

Witnesses in Al-Dalei said that the militias targeted a residential neighbourhood after about one hour of the start of the truce. In Al-Jawf, local residents reported that clashes erupted between the Houthis and tribal residents in Al-Yatma neighbourhood, between Al-Jawf and Sa’da.
