Former Egyptian Chief of Staff Retired Lieutenant General Sami Anan announced on Wednesday his full support for the current Egyptian President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi, Rassd.com reported.

In a telephone call to local Egyptian TV, Anan denied news that he is currently under house arrest, reiterating that he shares common interests with the current military leader of the country.

“Some people want to spoil tranquillity and stability of the country,” he said. “Thanks to God, I am travelling all around Egypt, meeting with all people and practicing all my activities without any restriction.”

Anan, who served as Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which ruled Egypt after the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, said: “Me and President Al-Sisi are of the same school, are in the same boat and have the same interests.”
