2,209 Syrian children killed in 2015

The U.K.-based Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said in a report released Friday that 2,209 children were killed in Syria between January and August this year.

According to the report, the Syrian regime killed 1,804 children, making up 82 percent of the death toll, while 175 children were killed by various opposition forces. Twenty one others were killed by Syrian Kurdish forces.

Also, 115 children were killed by extremist groups, including Daesh and Nusra Front.

The UN estimates that since the Syrian conflict began, more than 250,000 people have lost their lives, including at least 10,000 children.
