Israeli police have arrested 270 citizens, including 145 minors, in Jerusalem since 13 September, on charges of disturbing public security and throwing stones at Israeli police vehicles.

Demonstrations broke out in Jerusalem on the Jewish New Year’s eve after settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempted to perform religious Talmudic rituals inside.

Additionally, the Magistrate’s Court in Tel Aviv yesterday extended Wednesday the detention of five youths from Jaffa on charges of participating in demonstrations in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
