Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that he would not meet with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, even if the Egyptian regime abolished the death sentence against ousted President Mohamed Morsi.
However, Erdogan explained that he does not oppose restoring relations with the Egyptian people.
“My position is clear, I will not meet Sisi even after the abolition of the death sentences against the legitimate president Mohamed Morsi and his associates,” Erdogan told reporters accompanying him on his overseas trip.
“But I was never against the continuation of relations with the Egyptian people, and they can meet our ministers, but I do not believe that even our Prime Minister meeting him is the right thing to do,” he added.
