Kuwaitis purchased nearly 37 tonnes of precious metals in 2015

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a report that the country purchased an estimated 36,913 kilograms of precious metals in 2015, Kuwait Al-Qabas newspaper reported.

According to the ministry, August was the most popular month for precious metal purchases, with 4,547 tonnes purchased. This was followed by March, where sales amounted to around 4,330 tonnes.

The months of April, May, June and November were very close, with more than three tonnes of precious metals purchased per month.

The report comes in light of global and regional central banks’ efforts to increase their gold reserves.
