The National Agreement Government in Libya has rejected any foreign interference in the war against Daesh, AlKhaleejonline.com reported on Friday.

Speaking during the OIC summit in Istanbul, the head of the government, Fayiz Al-Sarraj, said that fighting terrorism is a “major issue” on the Libyan national agenda but it is to be carried out by Libyan hands. “Efforts to eradicate this cancer are to continue until Libya becomes safe and democratic.”

According to AlKhaleejonline.com, the Western powers have been discussing air strikes and Special Forces operations against Daesh in Libya. The Libyan wing of the group is based in Sirte.

On other regional issues, Al-Sarraj reiterated his country’s determination to seek a political solution in Syria based on a clear timeframe in order to let the Syrian people achieve their ambitions.

As far as Palestine is concerned, he called for the states attending the OIC summit to intensify their efforts to oblige the Israeli occupation authorities to commit to the resolutions of the international community.
