Netanyahu arrives in Moscow to meet Putin

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife and two other ministers arrived in Moscow yesterday evening to mark the 25th anniversary of Israeli-Russian relations, Israeli newspapers Haaretz and Russia Today reported.

Netanyahu is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin today to discuss implementing understandings reached between both sides in April, regarding increasing cooperation between the Israeli and Russian forces in order to avoid “unwanted problems” while operating in Syrian skies.

They will also discuss mutual cultural and commercial relations, as well as the general policy of both sides regarding the latest developments in Syria and other regional issues such as the situation with the Palestinians.

During the meeting, the two ministers will sign an understanding about the pensions of Israeli Jews who emigrated from Russia before 1992 and a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in the fields of agriculture and dairy industry.

According to Haaretz, Netanyahu will meet members of the Jewish community in Russia tomorrow and the Israeli campaign entitled “Open the door to Israel” will be inaugurated by one of his ministers.
