Israeli soldiers used slingshots to hurl stones at Palestinian schoolchildren they are deployed to protect, footage posted on YouTube shows.

The video taken on 25 October at 13:05 and uploaded by AtTuwaniProject, shows Israeli soldiers using slingshots to throw stones at Palestinian primary school children who are on their way home from school between the villages of Tuba and Twaneh in the South Hebron Hills, on the road that passes beneath the illegal outpost of Havat Ma’on.

Soldiers are deployed in the area to walk the children to and from school – a journey that takes them passed the settlement – and to their homes in order to stop settlers attacking them.

On the morning the footage was taken, the soldiers did not meet the children at the pre-arranged meeting point, forcing them to walk part of the way without an escort.
