The Turkish army sent reinforcements to the border with Syria on Sunday, Anadolu has reported. The troops are based in the city of Gaziantep. Taken from the 106th Armoured Brigade, the reinforcements include tanks and other vehicles along with support personnel and equipment.

Security sources said that the armoured group would be used in the operations against Daesh in the Syrian city of Jarablus. It is there that Turkey’s Special Forces launched an operation in support of the Free Syrian Army.

The operation in cooperation with the international coalition and codenamed Euphrates Shield, has cleansed the area of Daesh fighters.
