Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to meet with the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in two weeks in the Russian capital Moscow, Israel’s foreign ministry announced on Thursday.

The meeting will discuss the Syria conflict, military coordination, and the growing threat of Iranian dominance in the region.

Netanyahu said that Syria’s Golan “will never go back to Syria, it will always remain a part of Israel”. The latter was announced during his five-day visit to Australia which started on Wednesday.

In an official visit to Washington last week, the Israeli prime minister asked the US President Donald Trump to recognise Israel’s annexation of Syria’s Golan Heights. He did not reveal about the president’s response to the request.

The Israeli forces have occupied Syria’s Golan Heights in 1967. In 1981, Israel’s Knesset ordered imposing the Israeli law on Golan area.

Both, Netanyahu and Putin, have had previous discussions on the Syrian conflict and the military coordination between the two countries.
