In conversation with Sheikh Rashid Ghannouchi

April 20, 2017 at 12:22 pm

Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi will be speaking at the London School of Economics (LSE) to discuss the political evolution since the Jasmine revolution in Tunisia and the regional challenges faced by the country.

Six years after the uprisings that swept the region, Tunisia has undergone two rounds of elections and will hold important local elections later this year. Ghannouchi, who founded the Ennahda party, will discuss the achievements of the 2011 uprising, the challenges facing the region, as well as the evolution of his party following its 10th Party Congress in 2016.

The event is hosted by LSE’s Middle East Society and chaired by Toby Dodge.

MEMO will be live blogging and tweeting the event using the hashtag #LSEGhannouchi from 6pm BST.
