Qatar pulls troops from Djibouti-Eritrea border

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry informed Djibouti’s government today that it has withdrawn all of its troops from the Djibouti-Eritrea border, reports Al-Arabiya.

Qatari troops were stationed there to help mediate a border dispute. The Qatari army also used it as a point to enter and exit Yemen as part of the war against the Houthi armed group.

Qatar officially withdrew from the Yemen war last week after being expelled by Saudi Arabia.

Saudi-Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain have accused Qatar of supporting terrorism and extremism and severed diplomatic ties last week.

Qatar categorically denies the allegations it says are baseless.
