An organisation in the Netherlands has raised the world’s largest Palestinian flag in Europe, according to a statement released by the group on Wednesday.
The organisation, called KOFIA, said in a statement that the flag is 100 metres long and five metres wide.
The group added that this was considered to be the first event of its kind in Europe.
The move came less than a week after the Dutch government expressed outrage over Israeli authorities seizing dozens of Dutch-funded solar panels from a remote occupied West Bank village.
Israeli forces confiscated the solar panels in the isolated village of Jubbet Al-Dhib east of Bethlehem that were installed last year, under the pretext that they were built without the nearly impossible to obtain permits required by Israel to develop in Area C.
