Turkey and Russia are continuing talks in a deal that could see Ankara purchase S-400 air defence missile systems, Turkish Ambassador to Moscow Huseyin Dirioz said yesterday.

Speaking to media in Moscow, Dirioz said that Turkey is a NATO member however this does not stop Ankara adopting a multidimensional policy. The talks do not counter Turkish interests in other fields, he explained.

Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Russia’s state-owned arms manufacturer Rostec Corporation, has previously announced that a preliminary agreement in the talks with Turkey was reached.
