Army pays $6,900 to Israeli soldier who killed wounded Palestinian

Last year Elor Azaria, a 19-year-old Israeli army medic deployed to the occupied West Bank, shot and killed a Palestinian as he lay wounded and motionless

The Head of the Manpower Directorate of the Israel Defence Forces, Moti Almoz, has decided to pay a financial reward to Elor Azaria, the soldier who killed an already wounded Palestinian in Hebron, Alwatanvoice.com reported on Wednesday.

Almoz decided to pay the personal savings and demobilisation gift to Azaria, who killed Abdel Fattah Al-Sharif. He will receive 24,000 Israeli Shekels ($6,897), half of the total normally paid to soldiers who complete their military service. Azaria served just 18 months of his military service, which is supposed to last for three years.

The decision to pay the cash to Azaria came after a decision by Israeli Chief of General Staff Gadi Eizenkot to reduce his 18-month prison sentence to 14 months.

Disgusting stuff from the so-called ‘Jewish State’. Rewarding a murderer is just plain wrong, especially when his prison sentence was a joke.
