January 29, 2018 at 9:42 am

Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished two buildings which were under construction in the occupied West Bank city of Beit Jala today.

Residents said five machines were accompanied by a large number of occupation forces which broke into the neighbourhood and surrounded the buildings.

Zakaria Al-Wahsh told Ma’an that the Israeli occupation forces demolished two apartment buildings belonging to the Zerina family under the pretext that they were built without a permit.

The areas of Bir Aouna and Al Walaja village, which are adjacent to the southern boundary of the occupied city of Jerusalem, have been subject to systematic demolition and displacement campaigns carried out by the occupation authorities with the aim of forcing residents to leave to make way for illegal Jewish only settlements.

Israel issued no building permits for Palestinian homes in Area C of the occupied West Bank, in which Beit Jala lies, in 2015 and only one permit was granted in 2014.
