The head of the Egyptian Intelligence, Major General Abbas Kamel, arrived on Wednesday in Israel to discuss the terms of a ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and Hamas, Israeli media reported.

Kamel visited the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah yesterday and met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to inform him of the terms of the agreement and its progress.

Media reports added that Kamel discussed the comprehensive ceasefire agreement, the implementations of humanitarian projects in the Gaza Strip, and ways towards holding direct talks between Israel and Hamas with Israeli officials.

It is expected that the ceasefire agreement will be announced by Cairo today, where the Palestinian factions, most notably Hamas and Islamic Jihad, are gathered.
