Hamas delegation rounds off meetings in Egypt

A senior Hamas delegation, headed by Deputy Chief Saleh Al-Arouri, has ended its visit to Cairo, the movement announced yesterday.

In a statement Hamas said: “During the four-day visit, Hamas officials held several discussions with the Egyptian intelligence, rounding off with a meeting with the Egyptian Intelligence Minister Major General Abbas Kamel.”

“The meetings were open and serious and tackled all issues related to the Palestinian cause, bilateral relations, and current and future political developments.”

According to the statement, “both parties reciprocated trust and understanding about all the issues being discussed.”

Hamas said that “the Egyptian officials stressed they would continue their efforts at all levels, especially lifting the Israeli siege and achieving Palestinian reconciliation.”

Meanwhile, Hamas “welcomed and appreciated the Egyptian efforts and stressed on their importance for the Palestinian people.”
