Israeli soldier charged with assault over shooting two civilians

The Israeli prosecution has filed a list of charges to the Haifa Mastrigate’s Court against an Israeli army soldier for attacking civilians in the village of Fassuta in the Western Galilee.

The prosecution accused the soldier, 23 of “intentionally causing serious injury in (3 attacks), attempting to cause serious injury, shooting in a residential area deliberately, deliberately damaging cars, issuing threats and assaulting others without cause”.

According to the prosecution, after the soldier’s mother criticised the Joint Arab list on Facebook on October, 12, two people commented on the post, but the conversation between them and the soldier’s brother escalated to which the soldier threatened to take action.

On October 20, 2018, the soldier smashed the car windows of the two plaintiffs then two weeks later he assaulted them with an axe.
