Israel: Surveillance camera found outside Shin Bet chief’s home

November 29, 2018 at 1:53 pm

A surveillance camera was installed by an Israeli private company for a civilian client near the house of the chief of Shabak (Shin Bet) National Security Agency in Israel.

The street opposite Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman’s home was filmed for days with uninterrupted footage gathered before the camera was discovered. It is thought the camera was installed by a civilian who has since had the camera and its footage confiscated.

Yedioth Ahronoth noted that “the surveillance camera was indeed not connected to Argaman’s professional activities”, as the entrance of his house was not in the shot.

Shin Bet declined to make an official statement on the matter, while the police said they have no intention of “addressing the issue”.
