Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed military coordination and the situation in the Middle East with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday, local media reported.
Israel Hayom reported that Netanyahu discussed with Putin “regional issues”, however the Kremlin said in a statement that the two sides discussed “military coordination between the Israeli and Russian armies, in addition to the situation in the Middle East”, during their telephone conversation.
The Kremlin also noted that the call was initiated by Israel “to discuss the main issues in bilateral cooperation, military contacts between the two countries and developments in the Middle East”.
The call comes less than a week after the Israeli warplanes attacked “Iranian weapons warehouses” in Syria’s Aleppo.
