An Egyptian delegation has been shuttling between the Gaza Strip and Israel in an effort to reach a ceasefire between Palestinian factions and Israel.

The ceasefire is based on easing the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip in return for stopping protests organised by the Palestinians near the Gaza-Israel fence which have been ongoing for a year.
