Israeli warplanes destroyed the Gaza Strip during their latest aggression on the besieged enclave, but they failed to stop Hamas’ rockets, Anadolu news agency reported Israeli army Ombudsman, Major- General Yitzhak Brick, saying yesterday.

In an interview with the Israeli Army Radio, Brick said: “The theory that wars can be won only by warplanes has completely collapsed.”

“If we have failed for 11 days to stop the rocket fire [from Gaza], then what will we do in the face of a multi-front war which includes Hezbollah. This will be real devastation, and we do not have the ability to respond.”

According to Israeli army data, Hamas launched over 4,000 rockets towards Israel during the 11-day Israeli aggression on the besieged enclave which erupted on 10 May.

The brutal Israeli aggression on the besieged enclave killed 279 Palestinians, including 69 children, and injured thousands more.
