UN warns of 'significant' increase in settler attacks in West Bank

The United Nations yesterday warned of a “significant” increase in Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

This came in a statement issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirming the displacement of 820 Palestinians in the Wst Bank esince 7 October.

UN OCHA added that the average attacks by Israeli settlers in the West Bank increased from three to seven attacks per day.

During this period, OCHA documented 171 attacks by settlers on Palestinians.

The attacks by illegal Israeli settlers have resulted in loss of life and property, as well as limitations on the freedom of movement of Palestinians.

These restrictions on movement have even led to the cessation of humanitarian aid, according to an OCHA statement.

The statement further highlights that settlers are using weapons to threaten Palestinians.
