Dispatch from Gaza: Another mass grave as Israel besieges hospital

Nasser Hospital in Gaza faces a daunting challenge amid the Israeli siege and bombardment, as it grapples with a high influx of patients.

As Israeli tanks advanced towards Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza’s southern city of Khan Younis, thousands of displaced Palestinians, patients and staff have been left trapped within the hospital grounds.

In scenes reminiscent of those from Gaza City’s Al-Shifa Hospital weeks ago, Palestinians have had to dig a mass grave inside the yard of Nasser Hospital as they remain surrounded by Israeli troops, unable to leave.

One of the last operational health facilities in Gaza, Nasser Hospital has been struggling to cope with an overwhelming number of patients and bodies, with limited medical supplies available amidst the ongoing Israeli siege and bombardment.

Two-thirds of Gaza’s hospitals had already ceased functioning due to previous attacks.
