Hamas: ‘PA security agency behaviour towards resistance fighters reaches dangerous level’

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced: “The Palestinian Authority (PA) security agency’s behaviour in pursuing resistance fighters has reached a dangerous level.”

The movement added in a press statement received by Quds Press: “The behaviour of the security services affiliated with the PA in pursuing the resistance fighters, arresting them and confiscating their weapons, the latest of which was today in Tulkarm Governorate, after Mohammad Jaber Abu Shuja was besieged inside Thabet Thabet Hospital where he is receiving treatment, has reached its most dangerous stages. All Palestinian nationalists must call for denouncing and condemning such behaviour and working firmly to stop them.”

“While we commend the high level of public awareness and the rapid response of the people of Tulkarm to prevent the arrest of the Mujahid Abu Shuja, we stress that the PA leadership must restrain the security services and prevent them from pursuing the resistance and those wanted by the Zionist occupation in the occupied West Bank, release the resistance fighters detained in its prisons, and use its weapons to protect the Palestinian people who are being subjected to genocide,” continued the movement.

The movement added: “The security services’ continued shooting of the resistance fighters and the confiscation of their weapons and what they have prepared to defend our people against the occupation forces and settlers contradicts the unified national position that adopts resistance in all its forms, which was emphasised by the recent Beijing statement. The policy adopted by the PA’s security services harms the struggle of our Palestinian people who are setting the most wonderful examples of steadfastness and challenging the criminal occupation machine in the Gaza Strip.”
