Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “wasting the opportunity to reach an agreement” with his new conditions for a prisoner exchange deal and ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli media reported.
Speaking during the political and security cabinet meeting on Sunday, where they discussed “the nature of the response to Hezbollah” following the Majdal Shams rocket strike.
Israel’s Channel 13 reported yesterday that Gallant said: “If we do not want to allow movement to the north [transfer of Palestinians from the south of Gaza to the north], that is possible, but we will waste the opportunity. We have already decided to allow movement to the north, and if this does not happen, there will be no agreement.”
During the session, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded: “So, you have no problem with the militants moving to the north of the Gaza Strip?”
