The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has received a large number of new anti-ship cruise missiles.

These missiles have new capabilities, including highly explosive, undetectable warheads, which can cause severe damage and sink destroyers, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.

The missiles were delivered to the navy on the orders of Commander-in-chief of the IRGC Hossein Salami, who recently threatened Israel with “revenge” after the targeted killing of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

It is not clear whether Salami had already decided to deliver the weapons to the navy or whether the decision was made after Haniyeh’s assassination amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
