Yemen’s Houthi-allied armed forces announced yesterday claimed responsibility for an operation against an Israeli-linked ship ‘Blue Lagoon I’ in the Red Sea in the latest of such attacks in solidarity with Palestine. According to the Yemen Press Agency, the operation, involving missiles and drones, was in response to the vessel violating a ban on entry to the ports of occupied Palestine.
Military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree, stated in a televised announcement that the ship was directly targeted after it entered the restricted area. He warned that any companies dealing with the occupation state could face similar actions if they pass through the declared maritime operations zone, regardless of their destination.

The operation was conducted by Yemen’s missile, naval and drone forces, and resulted in a direct hit on the ship. The Joint Maritime Information Centre, overseen by the US Navy, confirmed that two ballistic missiles hit the oil tanker, with a third exploding nearby. However, all crew members are reported safe and the vessel sustained minimal damage.
Yemen’s armed forces reiterated their support for the Palestinian people, stating that they would continue their operations until the aggression against Gaza is stopped and the blockade is lifted. The ‘Blue Lagoon I’, which was travelling south through the Red Sea to an unlisted destination, had originated from Russia’s Ust-Luga port with Russian cargo. The Yemeni forces claimed the attack was due to other vessels in the Greek company’s fleet recently docking in Israel.
