A joint Omani-Bahraini military exercise code-named “Arabian Tiger” kicked off yesterday in the Sultanate of Oman as part of the two nations’ efforts to enhance the efficiency and capabilities of their armed forces.
According to the Omani News Agency (ONA): “The 10-day exercise is being implemented by the Royal Army of Oman (RAO) and the Royal Special Force of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The RAO is represented by the Musandam Security Force and the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) engineering, with support from the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).”
The Arabian Tiger exercise, which will run until 18 September, is being held in designated training areas in the Wilayat of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar, located in the Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate.
This joint exercise is part of the Royal Army of Oman’s training plans to maintain high performance levels and combat efficiency. It also aligns with the annual joint training programmes conducted with neighbouring countries.
The military exercise comes within cooperation agreements between Oman and Bahrain in military, security, and joint training fields. Both countries regularly hold joint exercises with Arab and friendly forces, aiming to enhance readiness and improve the capabilities of their armed forces.
