Syrians reunited after Assad regime ousted

Scenes of Syrian families reuniting after years of forced separation have been shared after the regime of Bashar Al-Assad was ousted on 8 December 2024. Many Syrians were kept in more than 100 detention facilities and an unknown number of secret facilities. One of the most notorious prisons was Sednaya, known as the ‘slaughterhouse’, which was the execution site for thousands of unknown detainees.
