Israel will prevent Iran from establishing new arm in Jordan: DM says

Israel is committed to preventing Iran from establishing an “octopus arm” in Jordan, Israeli Defence Minister Yisrael Katz said yesterday

During a visit to the area near the occupation state’s border with Jordan, Katz said: “I am here today to ensure that Iran does not succeed in creating the octopus arm it plans to establish for the purpose of forming an eastern front against the state of Israel.”

He expressed concern about ongoing attempts to smuggle weapons and finance “terrorism” through Jordan into Palestinian refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, which he believes threaten Israel’s security.

Katz emphasised that he has directed the Israeli military to ramp up offensive operations against any “terrorist activities” and safeguard illegal settlements in the area.

“My goal is also to expedite the construction of a security fence along the Israel-Jordan border,” he noted. This initiative aims to enhance security for both the illegal Jewish settlements and Israeli settlers living in them.

Katz said Iranian leader Ali Khamenei had “squandered hundreds of billions of dollars from the Iranian people’s money and invested them in Syria, Lebanon and Gaza to build the tentacles of the octopus that he stands at the head of, in an attempt to defeat the state of Israel.”

“We acted and destroyed the octopus’s arm in Gaza, severely hit the octopus’s arm in Lebanon, and now the big octopus’s arm in Syria has collapsed after [regime President] Assad’s fall, and all the investment has gone to waste. The Iranian people must hold the dictator accountable,” he added.
