The Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, held talks on Saturday, with the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji on bilateral relations and the situation in Sudan.
Talks took place as Al-Burhan hosted Elkhereiji in Port Sudan in the presence of the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ali Al-Sharif, and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Khartoum, Ali Jaafar. Elkhereiji stressed the Saudi leadership’s keenness to restore security and stability to Sudan.
The two sides also discussed issues of common interest and ways to strengthen relations in various fields, according to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA).
In a related context, the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister opened the consular section at the kingdom’s embassy in Sudan in the presence of Al-Sharif, and then reviewed the work mechanism and equipment.
