Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian child and another civilian in the Gaza Strip, in violation of the recent ceasefire deal between Tel Aviv and Palestinian Resistance group, Hamas.

On Monday, an Israeli sniper was seen shooting and killing a Palestinian child as he was returning to his home in the southern area of Rafah. The minor, identified as15-year-old Zakaria Humaid Yahya Barbakh, was shot multiple times before succumbing to his wounds.

The Israeli sniper then targeted a man who attempted to help the Palestinian child, with video footage circulating online showing the man also being shot multiple times. He sustained injuries which he has reportedly not yet succumbed to.

The attack by Israeli forces effectively violated the long-sought ceasefire deal that had only come into effect on Sunday, a mere day before the killing of the child.
