The Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that 118 people have been killed in the enclave since the ceasefire began on 19 January, and 822 have been wounded, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported.
While most of those killed were killed outright when attacked, the total includes some who have died of their wounds.
Moreover, Dr Monir Al-Bursh confirmed that health teams have recovered 641 bodies, including approximately 197 victims who remain unidentified.
The ministry announced that the total death toll from the Israeli offensive against the Palestinians in Gaza has risen to 48,219, with 111,665 wounded since 7 October 2023. It added that many victims remain trapped under rubble where emergency and civil defence teams are unable to reach them.
