Separately, Security Media Cell in Iraq said on Tuesday that a small drone had been shot down on the outskirts of Baghdad International Airport.
Local sources reported hearing several strong explosions in the northern city of Erbil later the same day. They said at least four blasts occurred within the city limits in less than half an hour, but provided no details on casualties or the nature of the explosions.
A security source confirmed that two drones had fallen in the Mount Korek area in Erbil province, adding that there were no human or material losses.
The incidents come amid a serious escalation in the Middle East following the outbreak of war initiated by Israel and the United States against Iran, with the conflict widening across the region.
