Russia spots two ballistic missiles in the Mediterranean

According to the Russian news agency RIA, Russia’s early warning system spotted today two ballistic missiles fired from the Mediterranean Sea towards the eastern beaches. The report did not include details of the origin of the missiles or who was responsible.


According to the report, two ballistic missiles were spotted at 11:16 am in the Mediterranean Sea. The Russian Defence Ministry confirmed the incident.

Reuters news agency quoted an Israeli army spokesman who denied Israel’s responsibility for the missile attack.

According to Israeli radio, an official at the Russian embassy in Syria denied that either of the rockets had fallen in Syrian territories.

Since writing this item, it has been confirmed that Israel carried out a joint missile test with the United States in the Mediterranean.
