Turkey says it forced a Syrian aircraft away from its borders

Turkey's military chief of staff has revealed that two F-16 aircrafts took off from the Amasya Merzifon Airport in western Turkey and headed to the Syrian border, following reports that a Syrian 17-H helicopter had approached the Turkish side of the border.

On Tuesday, Turkey's Milliyet newspaper reported the chief of staff as saying that the Syrian helicopter moved away from the Turkish-Syrian border when the Turkish aircrafts arrived. The aircrafts then returned to their base upon completion of their mission.
