Hamas welcomes Qatari Emir's remarks on Palestinian issue

Izzat al-Reshiq, a member of the Hamas political bureau welcomed remarks by the Qatar Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin-Hamad al-Thani, who stressed continuous support for the Palestinian cause.

Al-Resheq reiterated his movement's position and thanked Qatar for its generous support of the Palestinian cause and people.

On the 42nd inauguration of the Qatari Shura council, the Qatari Emir called for an end to internal Palestinian division.

He said that the Palestinian cause would remain a focal point of Qatari politics and blamed the Israeli occupation for the continuous suffering of the Palestinians.

The Emir said that the willingness of the Israelis to continue the blockade of the Gaza Strip and to continue their settlements policy in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the occupied Golan Heights is the reason for the continuous sufferings of the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, the Emir criticised the "international tolerance of this (Israeli) obstinacy." He said that it amounts to "complicity" with the occupation in increasing the suffering of the Palestinians.
