Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that negotiations with the Palestinians have reached a deadlock and are not progressing.
Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported in its Friday issue that during a closed meeting with Jewish leaders in the US, Netanyahu stated that he was willing “to make concessions”, but the Palestinian side is refusing to recognise Israel’s Jewishness.
According to the newspaper, Netanyahu noted that a permanent, not a temporary, solution is being discussed during the negotiations.
Meanwhile, Haaretz newspaper is reporting that the Palestinian and Israeli negotiators will resume negotiations with the participation of US Special Envoy Martin Indyk.
