The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation announced on Sunday that it is to unveil a package of project proposals for the development of Jerusalem worth $500 million. The Jeddah-based OIC said in a statement that it plans to present the projects to a donors’ conference on the strategic plan for the development of Jerusalem, scheduled to be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on Tuesday.

The organisation and the Republic of Azerbaijan have called upon the foreign ministers of OIC member states and some donor institutions in the Islamic world to participate in the conference.

The Secretary-General of the OIC, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, said that the event has been organised in line with the decision of the 12th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference, held in Cairo in February, in support of Jerusalem.
