Qatari newspaper raises concern over repeated Israeli aggression

February 15, 2014 at 1:25 pm

The Qatari newspaper, Al-Watan, denounced on Tuesday the Israeli provocation represented by the repeated desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the other Islamic sites in Palestine.

The Al-Watan editorial said that the latest provocative Israeli action was that two days ago, an Israeli officer inside the sanctuary’s yard had kicked a copy of the Quran being carried by a young woman. In the same incident, other Israeli officers attacked a group of women as they read the Quran.

The newspaper expressed deep concern and surprise over the silence of the international community which has not denounced these actions and has keep silent in the face of Israeli “racism.”

Calling on Arab and Islamic countries to take action, the newspaper said: “The Israeli aggression against the holy sites is nothing new. It is systematic and ushers in a massive danger.” The newspaper called for action that goes beyond “un-respected” condemnations and statements.

The newspaper called for Islamic action with participation from millions and which can form a strong, effective and international alliance able to stop Israeli aggression against the holy sites and Palestinian rights.
