Egypt-Jordan-Qatar talks on Israeli aggression

February 17, 2014 at 11:20 pm

President Mohamed Morsi has been in touch with regional and international leaders in his efforts to mobilise support to stop the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Yasser Ali, Egypt’s presidential spokesman, said that Morsi’s communications included a telephone to King Abdullah of Jordan as well as a call from the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Both emphasised their support for the people of Palestine.

A statement from the presidency confirmed earlier that Egypt is seeking to defuse the crisis as soon as possible and bring Israel’s aggression to an end.
