The Islamic University in Gaza has organised a conference and exhibition to showcase the talents of engineering students at the university.

The exhibition highlighted the use of many new engineering techniques, designs and inventions from the fields of electronic, computer, communications, civil and architectural engineering which touch on important aspects of human life.

It also discussed issues related to building and architecture; the use of materials such as cement, stone and bricks in new industry and materials; electric supplies; advancements in the means of assisting people with special needs; industrial machinery and electronic devices, particularly those that relate to water, soil and general health; improved agricultural products and techniques; and new high-spec technology.

Students at the university and other guests welcomed the exhibition as a treasure to Palestinians both inside and outside the Palestinian territories. For many, the conference proves that the Gaza Strip still contains a high level of intellectual creativity, distinction and excellence and has a lot to offer despite the blockade and the escalating periodic assaults it has had to endure at the hands of Israel.
