Hamas and Fatah officials meet in Gaza

Officials from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Fatah met yesterday, January 14, in Gaza at the residence of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

Attending the meeting on behalf of Fatah were; Diyab al Louh, Zakariya al Agha and Jamal Abu Samhadaneh. On the other side, Khalil al Haya, Nizar al Awad, Ismail al Ashqar and Tahir al Nunu represented Hamas.

The meeting was conducted in a spirit of friendship and cooperation after which the parties held a joint press conference in which they announced the details of the electoral commission and its re-opening in the Gaza Strip.
