Israel destroys farmland near Bethlehem

February 17, 2014 at 11:15 pm

Israel’s occupation authorities have destroyed agricultural land and uprooted trees in Al-Khodar, south of Bethlehem on the occupied West Bank. A warning of the destruction was given to the owner of the land.

Hassan Sabih, a local municipality official, told Quds Press that the Israelis have destroyed around a square kilometre planted with figs, olives and almonds owned by Daud Mohammed Khedr Salah. The land is near an illegal settlement called Itmar.

Sabih pointed out that although the Israelis gave notice, they bulldozed the crops before the expiry of the notice period. This meant that the owner was unable to appeal to the local out to stop the destruction.
